Q. What is the selected hotel for this conference?

Q. What is the cost of the accommodations? 

A. The ISPNE has secured a room rate of $239.00 + tax per night (single/double occupancy) at the gorgeous Palace Hotel. The number of rooms is limited, so please reserve in advance. To secure the $239.00 rate, you must reserve your room by June 23, 2009. 

 

Q. How do I reserve a room? 

A. You can reserve a room via the ISPNE website or by contacting The Palace Hotel reservations desk directly at 888-627-7196. Request the ISPNE conference rate when making your reservation through the reservations line. Reserve a room now!

 

Q. What is the hotel’s deposit/cancellation policy? 

A. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each guest’s reservation. Such deposit shall be applied, upon check-in, to the guest folio of the reserved stay. These deposits paid by guests are refundable if a cancellation of a reservation is received at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance of check-in and a cancellation number is obtained.

 

REGISTRATION

Q. How do I register for the 40th Annual ISPNE Conference? 

A. General registration information is available online.   

 

Q. As an international attendee, whom do I contact for an invitation letter to attend the 40th Annual Meeting? 

A. To receive an invitation letter, submit a request to meetings@ispne.org. 

 

Q. If I bring my children, spouse or significant other, are they permitted to attend educational and social events with me? 

A. Only individuals with a conference badge are allowed to attend the educational events. Guests over the age of 18 are permitted to attend the social events provided they have purchased a special event ticket. 

 

Q. Do I have to be a member to attend? 

A. No, but registration fees are reduced for members. 

 

Q. How can I become a member of ISPNE and receive discounted registration rates and other member benefits? 

A. To register as a member, you must apply for ISPNE membership a minimum of two weeks prior to the date you intend to register for the annual meeting. Learn more about joining ISPNE.

 

Q. What does my registration fee include? 

A. Your registration fee includes access to all plenary lectures, symposia, poster and free communication presentations, and the Thursday evening Welcome Reception. 

 

Q. Do I have to register and pay the registration fee if I submitted an abstract? 

A. Yes, all presenters must register for the program. 

 

Q. Can someone else register another person? 

A. Yes, as long as they can provide all of the necessary information and payment. 

 

Q. Can I pay by credit card? 

A. Yes, you may pay for registration fees by credit card. The credit cards accepted are MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

 

Q. I have a question about my registration. Who should I contact? 

A. Contact ISPNE’s conference planner, Ms. Lovdy Hamm at Peloton Conference & Event Planning (512-215-4831, meetings@ispne.org). 

 

Q. I've registered for the conference but unexpectedly cannot attend. Can I send someone else in my place? If so, how would I go about making this substitution? 

A. To make a substitution, please contact ISPNE’s conference planner in writing at meetings@ispne.org.

 

Q. What is the conference cancellation/refund policy? 

A. Cancellation before July 8, 2009 will result in a refund of registration fees minus a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations received on or after July 8, 2009 are not eligible for a refund. Refund requests must be made in writing and submitted to and received by Registration Services via e-mail (meetings@ispne.org).

 

TRAVEL

Q. Is parking available at the Palace Hotel?

A: Yes. Parking is available at the hotel (pull in front of the hotel at 2 New Montgomery Street to valet or for directions by the parking staff):

Overnight guests - $48 per 24 hour period with in & out privileges

Valet parking - $48 with no in & out privileges

Garage parking/hourly - $8 for the 1st hour and $10 for each additional hour for a maximum of $38 and/or 9 hours (no in & out privileges).

 

Q. How do I get to the hotel from the airport? 

A. 

From San Francisco International Airport

It is recommended that you fly into San Francisco International Airport (Code SFO), which is an approximate 25-minute drive away from the hotel. The taxi cost for transportation to the hotel is $40-60.

For individuals who wish to take the train, the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train runs between SFO and San Francisco every 15 minutes. Simply board the Dublin/Pleasanton train at the BART station. Exit the train at the Montgomery Street Station. The Palace Hotel is located at the corner of Market and New Montgomery Street, directly across from the train station. The total cost is $6. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.

From Oakland International Airport

Oakland International Airport (Code OAK) is another convenient option for program attendees. It is an approximate 35-minute drive away from the hotel. The taxi cost for transportation to the hotel is $50-65.

 

Q. How do I get to the hotel from the surrounding area?

From San Francisco International Airport

Take U.S. Highway 101 North to Interstate 80 toward Downtown/Bay Bridge. 

Exit onto 4th Street (the last San Francisco Exit). 

Turn left onto Bryant Street. 

Turn left onto 3rd Street. 

Turn right onto Market Street.

Turn right again onto New Montgomery Street - the hotel is located on the right. 

Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.

 

From Oakland International Airport

Take Hegenburger North to U.S. Route 880 North to Interstate 80 Bay Bridge.

Take the first exit Fremont Street. 

Turn left on Howard Street. 

Turn right on 3rd Street. 

Turn right on Market Street, then take an immediate right on New Montgomery Street. 

The hotel is located on the right. 

Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

 

From East Bay Hills

Take Interstate 80 West to the Bay Bridge/Fremont Street Exit. 

Turn left onto Mission Street. 

Turn right onto 3rd Street. 

Turn right onto Market Street, and then turn right onto New Montgomery Street - the hotel is located on the right. 

Travel time is approximately 40 minutes.

 

From Northern Wine Country

Take U.S. Highway 101 South over the Golden Gate Bridge and bear right onto Lombard Street. 

Turn right onto Van Ness Avenue. 

Turn left onto Post Street. 

Turn right onto New Montgomery Street and cross over Market Street - the hotel is located on the right. Travel time is approximately 60 minutes.
