Modern Psychoneuroendocrinology:

Interactions with Genes, Health, and Longevity

Join us in San Francisco!
The Palace Hotel
July 23-26, 2009

40th Annual International Society of Psychoneuroendocrinology Conference

Jointly sponsored by ISPNE and the University of California San Francisco, this program provides an opportunity to learn the latest scientific developments relevant to genetic and developmental/environmental contributions to hormonal physiology and mental and physical health. At this conference, we will discuss and debate key topics such as:

The interaction between genes, prenatal, early postnatal and adult experience and health behavior

Factors that promote vulnerability to depression, early disease and detrimental effects of stress

Factors that promote stress resilience, and longevity

Methods of predicting and optimizing physiological balance to reduce vulnerability and increase resiliency

The ISPNE is an organization founded to provide a forum for discussion and debate about the impact of stress and hormones on behavior, brain, disease and health.  Recent advances in genetics, molecular biology, brain imaging, behavioral medicine and mind-body connections, have greatly expanded our professional network.

Join us for four days of free communications, symposia and engaging plenary lectures.  Showcase your work and expertise by presenting a paper or symposium.  Our abstract submission tool is now open and the deadline to submit an abstract is May 15th.

Target Audience

Psychiatrists

Endocrinologists

Neurologists

Psychologists

Medical or Doctoral students

Researchers and clinicians in or impacted by the field of psychoneuroendocrinology

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:

1.  Discuss how early developmental events can have persistent effects on tissue structure and function, particularly hormone physiology.

2. Distinguish between genetic and epigenetic effects on biological responses to environmental events.

3. Identify factors that promote stress resilience, neuroendocrine balance, and longevity.

At the 40th Annual ISPNE Conference, you can meet other professionals at the leading edge of research and therapeutics and be a driving force in the future of psychoneuroendocrinology. Register by June 15th and get the early bird discount!

See you in San Francisco!
